PETITION FOR APPOINTMENT OF GUARDIAN
AND NOW,this Ij-~day of November,1971,comes your petitioner,
Kay Noble Rodgers,and petitions your Honorable Court for the appointment
of a guardian for Ruth L.Rodgers,a minor,based upon the following facts:
1.Your petitioner is Kay Noble Rodgers,a resident of 139.:.1/2 North
Central Avenue,Canonsburg,Washington County,Pennsylvania,who is the
natural father of Ruth L.Rodgers,a minor.
2.The natural mother of Ruth L.Rodgers is deceased,having died
on January 1 1971,a resident of the City of Canonsburg,Washington

County,Pennsylvania.
3.Following the death of the natural mother of Ruth L.Rodgers,your
petitioner,Kay Noble Rodgers,became ill and was admitted to the Veterans'
Administration Hospital in Pittsburgh.
4.During the time that your petitioner was hospitalized at the
Veterans'Administration Hospital,his daughter,Ruth L.Rodgers,was cared
for by her aunt,Carol R.Rattenni,who is the sister of your petitioner.
5.Your petitioner has been released from the Veterans'Administratio
Hospital but avers that he is unable to properly care for his daughter Ruth L.
Rodgers,who is 16 years of age,having been born on February 4,1955.
6.It is your petitioner's belief that the best interests of the
said minor child,Ruth L.Rodgers,would be promoted by the appointment of
Carol R.Rattenni as her legal guardian.
7.It is your petitioner's intention to leave the jurisdiction of
Pennsylvania and he wishes to leave his said child in the custody of his
sister,Carol R.Rattenni,and respectfully requests that your Honorable
Court grant his motion that the said Carol R.Rattenni be appointed as the
legal guardian of the said Ruth L.Rodgers.Your petitioner's affidavit is
attached hereto as petitioner's Exhibit "A".

8.It is the request of the said Ruth L.Rodgers that her aunt,
Carol R.Rattenni,be appointed as her legal guardian.The affidavit of
the said minor child is attached hereto as petitioner's Exhibit "B".
9.It is the request of the said Carol R.Rattenni that she be
appointed as legal guardian for Ruth L.Rodgers,wherein she avers that
she has the facilities and necessary income to provide for the welfare of
Ruth E.Rodgers and that she believes that the best interests of Ruth L.
Rodgers will be promoted by her being appointed legal guardian of the
said minor child.The affidavit of Carol R.Rattenni is attached hereto
as Exhibit lie".
10.The"said minor,Ruth L.Rodgers,possesses no estate or assets!
of her own nor is she heir to any estate or assets.
11.Your petitioner avers that the said Carol R.Rattenni has a good
reputation in the community and is fully capable of serving as legal guardian
of the said minor Ruth L.Rodgers and that the best interests and welfare of
the said minor child will be promoted by the granting of your petitioner's
request that Carol R.Rattenni be appointed as legal guardian for the said
minor child Ruth L.Rodgers.
WHEREFORE,your petitioner respectfully prays that your Honorable
Court enter an order appointing Carol R.Rattenni as legal guardian of the
person of Ruth L.Rodgers,a minor.

Rattenne at 410 Sixth Avenue,Carnegie,Allegheny County,Pennsylvania,
and that your affiant believes that the best interests of his daughter,Ru h
L.Rodgers will be served in her retaining her present residence with the

was born on February 4,1955 and that the present condition of her father,
Kay Noble Rodgers,precludes his caring for her during her minority at the
present time and that she wishes to live with Carol R.Rattenni,her aunt,
who,she respectfully requests that your Honorable Court appoint as her legal
guardian during her minority,and your affiant also avers that she has lived
with her aunt,Carol R.Rattenni,at certain other times during her minority
and that suitable accommodations,support and maintenance have always been
provided for her by her said aunt and she believes that her welfare will be
promoted by her remaining in the custody of Carol R.Rattenni for the balance
of her minority and that she respectfully prays that your Honorable Court
issue an order permitting Carol R.Rattenni as her legal guardian.

also avers that she is capable of caring for the said minor child,and has
the accommodations and necessary income to support and maintain the said
