IN THE COURT OF COMMON PLEAS OF WASHINGTON COUNTY,PENNSYLVANIA IN RE:ESTATE OF JEFFREY S.ALEXANDER A MINOR NO.///(,1/'1 ! / LAWRENCE R.ZEWE ATTORNEY AT LAW 27 S.COLLEGE STREET WASHINGTON.PENNA. 15301 PETITION FOR APPOINTMENT OF GUARDIAN AND NOW,this q~day of November,1971,comes your petitioner,Terry E.Alexander,and petitions your honorable court for the appointment of a guardian for Jeffrey S.Alexander, a minor,based upon the following facts: 1.Your petitioner is Terry E.Alexander,a resident of 2391 Belmont Avenue,Canton Township,Washington County, Pennsylvania,who is presently serving in the United States Air Force. 2.On October 8,1971,your petitioner's father, John E.Alexander,late a resident of Canton Township,Washington County,Pennsylvania,died,leaving as his only heir at law Terry E.Alexander,who has attained his majority and Jeffrey S.Alexander,a minor,who is presently 14 years of age,and having been born on April 5,1957. 3.Your petitioner,Terry E.Alexander,is the closest relative and next of kin to his minor brother,Jeffrey S. Alexander. 4.During the time that the said Terry E.Alexander is on duty with the United States Air Force,away from Washington County,Pennsylvania,the said Jeffrey S.Alexander is residing with his aunt,Dale Alexander,who resides at Belmont Avenue, Canton Township,Washington County,Pennsylvania. 5.The said Dale Alexander is not employed and receives the income from her support only from certain social security benefits to which she is entitled,and she requires the assistanc of the said Terry E.Alexander for the support and maintenance of the said minor,Jeffrey S.Alexander. LAWRENCE R.ZEWE ATTORNEY AT LAW 27 S.COLLEGE STREET WASHINGTON.PENNA. 16301 .. 6.The said Jeffrey s.Alexander is heir to certain property from the estate of John E.Alexander,which estate is presently in probate in the Orphans'Court of Washington County, Pennsylvania,letters of administration were granted by Russell Marino,Register of Wills of Washington County,on October 15, 1971,to Terry E.Alexander,who qualified as administrator.A copy of the letters of administration are attached hereto as petitioners Exhibit "A".The entire estate of John E.Alexander is estimated to be $600 (six hundred dollars)in personal property and $5500 (five thousand five hundred dollars)in real estate, situate in Canton Township,Washington County,Pennsylvania. 7.The said Terry E.Alexander following the death of his father,John E.Alexander,has been contributing to the support of his said minor brother,Jeffrey S.Alexander,and he wishes to provide the said support,maintenance and guidance. 8.Your petitioner,Terry E.Alexander,has applied for a Hardship Discharge from the United States Air Force so that he may act as guardian for his minor brother,Jeffrey S.Alexander and he will provide a home for the said Jeffrey S.Alexander at the residence of his late father,John E.Alexander,at his last residence,2391 Belmont Avenue,Canton Township,Washington County,Pennsylvania. 9.It is the wish of the said Jeffrey S.Alexander that,during the term of his minority the said Terry E.Alexander be appointed as his lawful guardian a notorized statement of intention of the said minor,Jeffrey S.Alexander,is attached hereto as petitioners Exhibit "B",wherein the said Jeffrey S. Alexander has requested that his brother,Terry E.Alexander, be appointed by the court as his lawful guardian. LAWRENCE R.ZEWE ATTORNEY AT LAW 27 s.COLLEGE STREET WASHINGTON,PENNA. 1530t 10.The next heir at law to the said Jeffrey s.Alexande is Dale Alexander,his aunt,who is not in a position financially to maintain and care for the said Jeffrey S.Alexander for a prolonged period of time.There is attached hereto as petitioners Exhibit "C"an affidavit from said Dale Alexander wherein she has indicated that she is unable to provide full support and main- tenance from her limited income for the said Jeffrey S.Alexander and whereas she has requested that the Orphans'Court of Washing- ton County,Pennsylvania,appoint the said Terry E.Alexander as the lawful guardian of the person of the said Jeffrey S. Alexander. 11.The said Terry E.Alexander is of good reputation in the community and has served in the United States Armed Forces for more than two years,is fully capable of acquiring sufficient employment and income for the maintenance of his said brother, and has never been charged with any offenses whatsoever against the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or otherwise,and is fully competent to act as guardian for his said minor brother. The said Terry E.Alexander has attained his majority,being 21 years of age. WHEREFORE the said Terry E.Alexander respectfully prays that your honorable court enter an order appointing him as legal guardian of the person of the said Jeffrey S.Alexander, a minor.
