TO THE HONORABLE PAUL SIMMONS,JUDGE OF COURT OF COMMON
PLEAS,WASHINGTON COUNTY,PENNSYLVANIA:
The Petition of Harry L.DuJordan,Jr.,by his attorneys,Peacock,
Keller,Yohe &.qay,respectfully represents:
1.That Olive G.Haas (Hoffman)died a resident of Washington
County on February 28,1970 in the Washington County Home for Aged
Women.
2.Petitioner has no ,knowledge of the existence of a valid Last Will
and Testament of Olive G.Haas or the existence of a surviving spouse.
3.Petitioner has no knowledge of heirs in this estate,despite
reasonable investigation.
4.Said decedent owned real estate in the form of property at 1318
Erma Street,North Braddock Borough,Allegheny County,Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania at the time of her death as your petitioner is informed,believes
and avers,with an assessed value of One Thousand One Hundred and no/100
($1,100.00)Dollars in value.'
5.Said decedent owned a savings account in First Federal Savings and
Loan of Home,stead in the form of a tentative trust in the name of Olive G.
Haas,Trustee for Carol Ann Brown,Mary Sue Brown,Carl Robert Brown,
and Albert W.Brown of a value in excess of Three Thousand and no/100
($3,000.00)Dollars.The decedent may have owned other personal property
at the time of her death.
6.Your petitioner,Harry L.DuJordan,Jr.',is controller for
ORDER
AND NOW,December 10,1973,the Court sets Thursday,January 31,

amount of One Thousand Six Hundred Seventy-one and 92/100 ($1,671.92)
Dollars for medical expenses of the said decedent incurred by the hospital
at the request of the said Olive G.Haas,who is now deceased.
7.Your petitioner#Harry L.DuJordan#Jr.#is an adult individual
who resides in Washington County at 909 Lincoln Avenue,Charleroi#
Pennsylvania 15022.
8.No heirs or creditors of Olive G.Haas have taken out Letters of
Administration on the estate of the said decedent.

TO THE HONORABLE JUDGES OF SAID COURT:
AND NOW comes Harry L.DuJordan,Jr.,administrator of the
estate of Olive G.Haas A/K/A Olive G.Hoffman,by his attorneys,
Peacock,Keller,Yohe,and Day,and p~titions the court as follows:
1.That Olive G.Haas (Hoffman)died a resident of Washington County
on February 23,1970 in the Washington County Home forAged Women.
2.That on January 31,1974,upon consideration of a Petition to
Compel.!~9-miJlistrat!on,Letters 9f Administration in the Estate of
Olive G.Haas (Hoffman)were issued to Petitioner,Harry L.DuJordan,Jr.,
Controller for Monongahela Valley Hospital,Inc.,Principal Creditor of
the decedent at the time of her death.
3.That at the time of her death,Decedent held a Savings Account,
No.33116,in First Federal Savings and Loan of Homestead in the form
of a te&ative trust in the name of Olive G.Haas,Trustee for
Carol Ann Brown,Mary Sue Brewn,Carl Robert Brown and Albert W.Brow,
of a value in excess of Three Tfib.us.and and no/hundreds ($3,000.00)Dollars.
4.All funds in account No.33116 were deposited ,:hl.,.Olive G.Haas\:'f'J"d--(Hoffman)during her lifetime from her own assets.Olive G.Haas (Hoffman

retained exclusu possession and control of such account.No delivery or
consumation of any gift has ever occured.
5.That the savings account bank book for the above described account
is being held by Roy W.Riehl,Esq.,2006 Law &Finance Building,Pgh.,

6.Petitioner does not know the specific whereabouts of Carol Ann Brown,
Mary Sue Brf!)wn,Carl Robert Brown or Albert W.Brown.However,
Petitioner has attempted contact through the last known address of
Betty L.Brown,'mother of all the beneficiaries of this tentative trust,
and has received no reply.
7.Demand has been ~~e upon Roy W.Riehl,Esq.,acting for all
known interested parties to this Account for its return to the Estate of
Olive G.Haas A/KIA Olive G.Hoffman.The said Roy W.Riehl,Esq.,
has asked that a court order be 'obtained to authorize delivery of the said

AND NOW.comes Harry L.DuJordan.Administrator of the Estate
of Olive G.Haas a/k/a Olive G.Hoffman.by his attorneys.Peacock.
Keller.Yohe &Day.ana respectfully represents that:
1.Petitioner was appointed administrator of the estate of Olive
G.Haas (Hoffman)on January 31.1974.
2.That Olive G.Haas (Hoffman)died a resident of Washington
County.Pennsylvania.on February 23.1970 in the Washington County
Home for Aged Women.
3.That at the time of her death.decedent held legal title to a
tract or lot of land located in the Borough of North Braddock.Allegheny
County.Pennsylvania.identified as 1318 Erma Street.North Braddock.
Pennsylvania.having erected thereon a two-story frame house.
4.That at'the time of her death.decedent was not occupying said
property and the house was in gener~l disrepair and unocc;upied.

5.Subsequent to the death of Olive G.Haas an appraisal was
done of this property by Victor Wrobleski.setting'the value \of this
property at One Thousand and no/100 ($1.000.00)Dollars.A copy of
said appraisal is attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit A.
6.That at the time of the death of Olive G.Haas (Hoffman)said
property was liened for non-payment of taxes by both Allegheny County

and North Braddock Borough.

The liens for non-payment of taxes on this
land are such as to make the administration of such property by the
estate of Olive G.Haas impractical.
7.Petitioner has filed an inventory and appraisement of the
estate of Olive G.Haas (Hoffman)identifying said realty as an asset of
the estate.
8.Petitioner believes that in the best interest of the estate of
Olive G.Haas this property has no value to the estate of Olive G.Haas.
WHEREFORE,Petitioner believes it is to be in the best interests
of the estate of Olive G.Haas (Hoffman)to renounce the right of the
personal representative to administer to this real property as of no
value to the estate,and therefore requests the Courts approval of its
renunciation and abandonment of any such interest and the removal of
said item from the inventory and appraisement of the estate of 'Olive G.

Dear Sir,
At your request I viewed the property a 131S Erma st.No.Braddock,Pa.
The house is located down the road from a former public dump that the
Boro of North Braddock has closed.The house is of frame constuction and
sets 25 feet above street level.The steps leading to the front door are
over grown and in bad disrepair.Entrance was gained thru the neighbors
steps.The house sets on a twenty foot lot.The estemated age of the house
l.is 75 to SO years old.It is of frame constuction and with insul brick
siding nailed to it.
The front window is o~completely with half or better than half of all
the windows in the house either broken or cracked.The front porch is
begining to give way.The water pipes in the second floor bathroom must
~e broken.The house is in general disrepair and would need.a complete
overhaul.My estimate of repairs to bring the house up to standarss
would be in the neighborhood of $S,OOO.OO.It is my opinion that the
district does not warrant this type of capital outlay.
It .is my opinion that One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00)would be a top
dollar price for this house.There are many homes in better locations
than this house and also in better condition and setting on level lots
selling for $2,000.00 • I suggest that you take what ever you can get
for this house.It is more of a liability than an asset.

1.Petitioner is a duly qualified administrator in the within
estate,letters of administration having been granted on February 6,197 .
He resides at c/o Mon Valley Hospital,Monongahela Division,West

2.The decedent died February 23,1970 a resident of the

3.The decedent was a widow at the time of her death and is

Dear Sir,
At your request I viewed the property a 1318 Erma st.No.Braddock,Pa.
The house is located down the road from a former public dump that the,.
Boro of North Braddock has closed.The house is of fra~e constuction and
sets 25 feet above street level.The steps leading to the front door are
over grown and in bad disrepair.Entrance was gained thru the neighbors
steps.Th~house sets on a twenty foot lot.The estemated age of the house
is 75 to 80 years old.It is of frame constuction and ~Qth insul brick
siding nailed to it.
The front window is odcompletely with half or better than half of all
the ~Qndows in the house either broken or cracked.The front porch is
begining to give way.The water pipes in the second floor bathroom must
be broken.The house is in general disrepair and would need a complete
overhaul.My estimate of repairs to bring the house up to standaras

It is my opinion that One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00)would be a top
dollar price for this house.There are many homes in better locations
than this house and also in better condition and setting on level lots
selling for $2,000.00 • I suggest that you take what ever you can get
for this house.It is more of a liability than an asset.

that Monongahela Valley Hospital is owed approximately $1671.~O
in this estate or fr om Olive G.Haas.Nobody to this date has
raised the estate of Olive G.Haas.She died in 1970 on
Februa:r:-y 28 in the Washington County Home for Aged Women.
Her only prior address to that time was 208 Linn .,Al~ey/
Monongahela,'Pa.,And we would like to have the Court sign an
Order today tha t would requ ire or would take out Letters of
Administration on Harry L.DuJordan,who is Controller of
Monongahela Valley Hospital.And we'd like to compel the
adminis tration.
