MYRTLE LAIRD
ORDER DIRECTING CORRECTION OF BIRTH RECORD
AND NOW, January 21, 1969, it appears to the Court that an
error was made in the entry of the record of birth of Myrtle Laird, who was
born in Claysville, Washington County, Pennsylvania.
Proper evidence of her date of birth has been submitted to the
Court, to wit, a photocopy of a permanent page from the Family Record Book,
indicating births in the family; the photocopy shows that the father, John
Laird, and the mother, Marie A. Porter, had children born from the year
1900 to the year 1911; it indicates, among these births, that Myrtle Laird
who is the same individual as Myrtle Annetta Laird, was born September 29,
1903. The said photocopy from the said Family Record Book is hereto attache
and marked Exhibit 11A11 •
It is evident that an. error was made in the entry of the birth
record of th:i:s individual, since the said record was entered in the appropriate
Docket in the Register of Wills Office in the month of May, 1904. Since the
birth of this individual is listed as having occurred on September 29, 1904,
it is plainly evident that the said entry is in error as the birth could not have
been recorded in May, 1904, if it had not occurred until September 29, 1 904;

the entry must have been made after the birth, hence the birth was on
September 29, 1903, as recorded in the Family Record Book.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED AND DECREED
that the record of the birth of said Myrtle Laird recorded in the Office of the
Register of Wills of Washington County, Pennsylvania, in Birth Record or
Volume No. 3, Page 139, Item 1, shall be corrected to show the birth of
said Myrtle Laird to be on September 29, 1 903; that all other matters recorde
in said Birth Record shall remain as heretofore; that a notation shall be
entered in said Docket, in red ink, showing the authority of the Clerk to make
said correction by citing this Order.
