Versus.Redd's Beach Park Inc., Defendant. Petitioners entered into a settlement df the Claim with the Representatives of the Defendant in the amount of $800.00. The Petitioners believe that the Settlement of $800.00 was reasonable and should have been· accepted. The Administratrix failed and refused to accept the Settlement and would not sign a release. File # 63-68-1253 County FHe # 38-2-5 Dear Sir: This is in answer to your letter of November 8r 1973, regarding the above estate. Originally, we had represented Mrs. Oley Stevenson in a negligence case. Mrs. Stevenson di~d before a settlement could be reached in the case. Her daughter, ~everly Sandy, was then ~ appointed Administratrix of .Mrs. Stevenson's estate. We had -. . negotiated a settlement of the case, however, the Administratrix, ~ . Beverly Sandy, would not execute a release. The de'fendant in the _; negligence action, through his insurance company, petitioned the c..w · Court to dismiss the action. Consequently, as far as the anticiJ=ated recovery to the Estate of Oley Stevenson because of the accident, there are no assets and as far as we know there is no inheritance tax due. In any case, we do not represent the Estate of Oley SteyelDion ·and are not aware whether or not there are other assets upon wl:ich inheritance tax would be due.
