OF A GUARDIAN OF THE ESTATE OF A MINOR
TO THE HONORABLE THE PRESIDENT JUDGE OF THE ORPHANS'COURT
OF WASHINGTON COUNTY:
The Petition of Dirk Reed,a minor over the age of fourteen
joined in by Merle W.Reed,his father,respectfully represents:
1.That Dirk Reed was born on June 4,1953.
2.That his present residence is 61 Dunn Avenue,City of
Washington,Washington County,Pennsylvania,where he resides with
his parents,Merle W.Reed and Edith Reed.
3.That Dirk Reed is the son of Merle W.Reed and Edith
Reed,his wife,who also reside at the above address.
4.That a guardian of Dirk Reed's Estate is necessary
because of a settlement in the form of damages received on his
behalf as a result of a compromise approved in the Court of
Common Pleas of Washington County at No./~f'',~,,,,Term,
1968.In said matter,the said Dirk Reed,was i~eJ}in an
accident involving The Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company,and
suit was entered against The Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company
and as a result therefrom,a compromise offer was made to pay,
on behalf of the minor Dirk Reed,a sum of Five Thousand Five
Hundred Forty-seven and 06/100 ($5,547.06),and said sum was paid
as payment in full of a judgment for that amount entered at the
number and term above specified in the Court of Common Pleas of
Washington County,pursuant to a Petition for Settlement and
Compromise and the accompanying Order entered by the Court at
that number and term on July ,1968.A copy of the decree in
said matter is attached as Exhibit "A".
5.The Pittsburgh National Bank,Washington Office,Washing-
ton,Pennsylvania,is proposed as.guardian of the Estate of the

said Dirk Reed.
6.The proposed guardian has no interest adverse to the
minor's and is not the fiduciary or an officer or employee of
the corporate fiduciary of an estate in which said minor has an
interest nor the surety or an officer or employee of the corporate
surety of such a fiduciary.
7.Said Merle W.Reed,father,joins in this Petition for
the purpose of affirming the request of his son herein set forth.
WHEREFORE,Dirk Reed,a minor over fourteen years of age,
makes choice of the Pittsburgh National Bank,and prays the Court
to appoint it guardian of his Estate.

PETITION FOR ALLOWANCE
TO THE HONORABLE,THE JUDGES OF THE SAID COURT:
The Petition of Pittsburgh National Bank respectfully
represents:
1.That it is guardian of the estate of Dirk Reed,a
minor,by decree of your Honorable Court dated July 29,1968.
2.That said minor is 17 years of age,and resides with
his wife,Beverly,at the home of his parents,Mr.&Mrs.Merle W.
Reed at 61 Dunn Avenue,Washington,Pennsylvania.
3.That the minor's estate consists of $5,547.06
principal.The net income of the estate is $per annum.
4.Said minor is a senior at Washington High School and
is a part time employee at Penny's store located in the Washington
Mall where he earns approximately $28.00 per week.
5.Said minor's father has a net income of approximate1
$425.00 per month which said sum is sufficient only to meet the
present ob1igationsof said Merle W.Reed.
6.Said minor needs transportation to and from his
school and his place of employment.

7.Until September 26,1970,said minor used his father s
truck for purposes of transportation.
8.On September 26,1970,said minor wrecked his father s
truck and has been without transportation since that date.
9.At the time of said accident,said minor and his
wife were taken by ambulance to the Washington Hospital where they
were treated and released.The charge for the ambulance service
was $20.00 (see attached EXHIBIT "A"),and the charge for the
treatment at the hospital was $170.65 (see attached EXHIBIT "B").
Neither of these bills has been paid.
10.Said minor presently has a 1961 automobile which
would be available to use for transportation if repairs were
effected on the automobile.The approximate cost of making the
automobile suitable for transportation is $175.00.
11.Dirk Ree~the mino~and Merle W.Reed,his father,
join in this petition.
WHEREFORE,Petitioners pray your Honorable Court to
direct an allowance of $365.65 in order to defray the above enurner
ated costs and to direct an allowance for the legal fees and costs
incidental to the preparation,presentation and filing of this
petition.

The Petition of Pittsburgh National Bank respectfully
represents:

1.That it is guardian of the estate of Dirk Reed,a
by decree of your Honorable Court dated July 29,1968.

2.That said minor is 18 years of age and resides with
his wife,Beverly,and daughter,at the home of his parents,Mr.
&Mrs.Merle W.Reed,at 61 Dunn Avenue,Washington,Pennsylvania.
3.That the minor's estate consists of approximately
$4,900.00 principal.
4.Said minor is employed by Sears Department Store at
the Franklin Mall,and has a take home pay of approximately $70.00
per week.
5.On July 4,1971,said minor's wife gave birth to a
daughter at the Washington Hospital.A portion of the expenses of
the delivery and hospital charges were paid by the Pennsylvania
Department of Public Welfare,but there is outstanding an unpaid
balance of $284.95.
6.Said minor's wife was x~rayed at said hospital due
to constant headaches and said x-ray bill for $12.00 is unpaid.
Said minor's infant daughter received a bee sting and was treated
at Washington Hospital and said bill in the amount of $10.00 is
outstanding.
7.Said minor had to be re-fitted with a new prosthetic
device by the Union Artificial Limb and Brace Co.,Inc.,at a cost
of $37.49 which bill is outstanding.
8.Said minor is unable to satisfy t6ese obligations
due to his limited income and due to his ~iving expenses.
WHEREFORE,petitioners.:pray your Honorabl"e Court to
direct an allowance of $344.44 in order to defray the above
enumerated costs and to direct an allowance for the legal fees and
costs incidental to the preparation,presentation and filing of
this petition.

The Petition of Pittsburgh National Bank respectfully
represents:
1.That it is guardian of the estate of Dirk Reed,a
minor,by decree 'of your Honorable Court dated July 29,1968.
2.That said minor is 19 years of age and resides with
his wife and daughter at 61 Dunn Avenue,Washington,Pennsylvania.
3.That the minor's estate consists of approximately
$4,418.09 principal.
4.Said minor was employed by Sears Department Store,
Washington,Pennsylvania,which said emplOYment was terminated in
•<January,1973.

~5.Since the termination of said employment,Mr.Reed

has been on public assistance and receives approximately $150.00
per month.
6.Prior to the termination,'of his emploYment,Mr.Reed
