ORDER DIRECTING CORRECTION OF BIRTH RECORD
AJ\ID NOV!,July 3,1968,it appears to the Court that errors were
made in the entry of the record of birth of Joseph Openbrier who was born in
Washington County,Pennsylvania,in that the date of said birth was improperI
recorded,and that the surname of the said individual was improperly listed
as 1l0penbaughll •
Proper evidence of his dal:e of birth and of the proper surname of
said individual has been submitted to this Court,:0 wit,2,letter from
Pittsburgh Coal Company (L.C.Doubleday,Compensation Manager)showing
that Joseph Openbrier had worked with said firm :rom January 20,1936,to
May 15,1954,always using the name Joseph Openbrier,and that on the
Companyts records his date of birth has always been listed as February 4,
1906,rather than June 12,1906,as heretofore recorded.The said letter
and attached information sheet are hereto attached and marked Exhibit IlAII.
The Court is also supplied with an affidavit of Lucille Ferris,an older sister
of said Joseph Openbrier,which said 9ifiant states that Joseph Openbrier was
born on February 4,1906,and that tl1e family name has always been Openbriev.
rather than Openbaugh.The said affidavit is hereto attached and marked
Exhibit IIB II .The Court is further supplied with the affidavit of Celine
Gosseaux,of Brownsville,Pennsylvania,also an older sister of Joseph
Openbrier,which said affiant deposes and says that Joseph Openbrier was born
on February 4,1906,and that the family name,and the correct name that has
always been used is Openbrier and not Openbaugh.The said affidavit is heret
attached and marked Exhibit IIC II .

NOW,THEREFORE,IT IS ORDERED AND DECREED
that the record of birth of said Joseph Openbrier (Joseph Openbaugh)
recorded in the Office of the Register of Wills of Washington County,
Pennsylvania,in Birth Record or Volume No.3,Page 190,Item No.7,
shall be corrected to show the b.irth of said Joseph Openb~ier on February 4,
1906,and that the record shall further be corrected to show the surname to
be Openbrier rather than Openbaugh;that all other matters recorded in said.
birth record shall remain as heretofore;that a notation shall be entered in
said Docket,in red ink,showing the authority of the Clerk to make said
corrections by citing this Order.

sworn according to law,deposes and says that she is an older
sister of JOSEPH OPENBRIER;that the said JOSEPH OPENBRIER
was born February 4,1906,according to her memory and the birth
date celebrations in the family,and not on June 12,1906,as
contained in the registered birth certificate in the Register's
Office of Washington County,Pennsylvania;that the family name
was "Op·enbrier"and not 'bpenbaugh",as contained in the said
registration of birth;that the affiant's family had always
spelled their name "Openbrier"and that the correct name of the
subject is "Joseph Openbrier".
