ITEM 1.I direct that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid as soon after my death as may be found conven- ient. ITEM 2.I give and bequeath all of my tangible personal property,such as household goods and furnishings,to my Executor Mellon National Bank and Trust Company,to be distributed in accordance with a list to be found in my safe deposit box.Any items not distributed in this manner shall not be sold but shall be given to a charitable organization or organizations chosen by my Executor. ITEM 3.(a)I give and bequeath to my niece,Grace Hays Johnson,of Portland,Oregon,the sum of Three Thousand ($3,000) Dollars. (b)I give and bequeath to my nephew,George Hays,of Denver,Colorado,the sum of Three Thousand ($3,000.00) Dollars. (c)I give and bequeath to my nephew,John Hays, of Los Altos,California,the sum of Three Thousand ($3,000.00) Dollars. ITEM 5.All of the rest,residue and remainder of my estate,real and personal,I give,devise and bequeath to The McCormick Theological Seminary located in the City of Chicago, Illinois,IN TRUST,nevertheless,for the following uses and pur- poses: (a)To payout of the income therefrom quarterly to Miss Hilda Mathisen,of Aniwa,Wisconsin,the sum of Seventy- five ($75.00)Dollars for and during the term of her natural life. (b)To payout of the income therefrom quarterly to Miss Mary DeBure McCurdy,of Freeport,Pennsylvania,the sum of One Hundred Fifty ($150.00)Dollars for and during the term of her natural life. (c)The net income remaining after the payments provided for in (a)and (b)hereinabove shall be used for the benefit of the Arthur A.Hays Inter-racial Fellowship in The McCormick Theological Seminary. After the deaths of Miss Hilda Mathisen and Miss Mary DeBure McCurdy that portion of the income herein direct- ed to be paid to them shall be used for the benefit of the Arthur A.Hays Inter-racial Fellowship as provided above. ITEM 6.I direct my Executor hereinafter named to pay all the inheritance,estate,succession and legacy taxes to which my estate,or the transfer of any property hereunder may be subject, and to charge such taxes as a part of the expense of administra- tion,said taxes to be paid out of the residue of my estate. • I hereby nominate and appoint Mellon National Bank and Trust Company to be Executor of this my Last Will and Testament.
