LAST THLL _ND TEST...4MENT
I,John James Calvert,of Carroll Township,County of ~ash
ington and State of Pennsylvania,being of sound mind and memory,do
hereby make,publish and declare this to be my Last Will and Testament,
in manner ,and form following,hereby revoking any will or wills here-
tofore made by ~e.
First.I direct that all my just debts and funeral expenses
be fully paid and satisfied,as soon as conveniently may be,after my
decease.
Signed,sealed,published and declared by the above named
John James Calvert,as and for his Last Will and Testament,in the
presence of us,who have hereunto subscribed our.names at his request

as witnesses thereunto,in the presence of said testator,and of each
other.
Second.I give and bequeath to my son,John James Calvert,
Jr.,my gold Illinois watch.
Third.I give and bequeath to my daughter and son-in-law
Evelyn May Calvert Smith and Samuel Shaw Smith,any or all motor
vehicles that I may have at the time of my decease.
Fourth.I give and bequeath to my wife Florence
the balance of my estate,real,personal or mixed.
I do hereby make,constitute and appoint Evelyn May Calvert
Smi th and Samuel Shaw Smith to be my executors of this my last Will
and Testament.
In Witness ffuereof,I John James Calvert,the Testator above
named,have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal,the ~venty
fourth day of May in the year of our Lord,One thousand nine hundred
and Forty-four.

Villiam Gilchrist,Attorney-at-La ,of Cumberland,Maryland,and made
oath in due form of law;that after the death of John James Calvert,
the testator,he found the aforesaid will among the private effects of
the said testator,in his late home.And the said C.William Gilchrist,
further made 'oath,that the afore oing instrument of writing is the true
whole last will and testament of the said John James Calvert,deceased,
,'
that hath come to his hands or possession and that he does not know of
any other will or testament of the deceased aforesaid.

Allegany County,to-wit:-BE IT KNOwv.N:-That Rose Emma Calvert
and Edith Cowan Fisher,the two subscribing witnesses to the aforegoing
last will and testament of John James Calvert,late of Allegany County,
Maryland,deceased are non-residents of the ?tate of Maryland,and beyond
the jurisdiction of the Orphans'Court of said County and State and it
being unable to produce them to prove their signatures as witnesses to
said Will,the signature of John James Calvert,the testator,was proven
by George I.Stegmaier,of the City of Cumberland,]aryland,(on July
13th,1945)who made oath in due form of law;that he was well acquainted
with the said John James Calvert,the testator and familtiar with his
handwriting and that his signature as testator to said will is his
genUIne signature to the best of his knowledge and belief.
