I,D.Finley Brown do hereby make this my last will and testa-
mente
To my wife Carrie Brown and my daughter Mrs.Wanda Brown Tay~or
I give my house and buildings serving same in Mathews County,Virginia
with 5 acres of land surrounding and fronting on Queen's Creek,Va.
To my son,Mathews B.Brown,I gave my house with 2 acres of
land serving same,including buildings,in Peters Township,Pa.,the
house having burned since.He got the insurance and forfeited the
land.I gave him two acres of the Howe Tract on which he built his
house,value $300.00 an acre.The real estate in land in Pennsylvania,
Pa.is ~~to be equally divided between my wife Carrie Brown,Matthews
Brown and Mrs.Wanda Brown Taylor at value estimate.To my Wife,Barrie
Brown,I give all of my personal property and all of my real estate
in Mathews County,Va.I appoint as my executDr my wife Carrie Brown.

SEPTEDlliER 13th,1939.
This paper writing,purporting to be the last will and testament
of David Finley Brown,deceased,who was a resident of the County of
Mathews and state of Virginia and who died on the 15th day of August,
1939,was this day produced before the Clerk of this Court by Carrie
Brown,widow of the decedent,for probate,and it appearing to the
clerk that said paper writing is improperly witnessed,Randolph T.
~ason and J.K.Davis were then duly sworn and made oath that they
are,well acquainted with the handwriting of the said David Finley
Brown,deceased,and verily believe the said writin ,together with
the name thereunto subscribed to have been wholly written by the said

David Finley Brown,whereupon said paper writing is admitted to probate
and ordered to be recorded as and for the true last will and testament
of said David Finley Brown,deceased,and upon the motion of Carrie
Brown,the Executrix named in said will,she is permitted to qualify
as SUCh.
Whereupon the said Carrie Brown made oath that she will perform
the duties of her office to the best of her ability and judgment and
entered into and acknowledged a bond before the Clerk in the penalty
of Fifteen Hundred Dollars ($1500.00)with Wm.M.Taylor her surety,
said surety having first justified on oath as to his sufficiency.
