CODICIL TO WILL
IN THE NAME 01"GOD,A1YIEN.
I,HENRY J.CARSON,of Fallowfield Township,Washington
County and State of Pennsylvann,beaing of sound mind,memory and
understanding,do make and pUblish this Codicil to my Last Will
and Testament,bearing date the Twenty-first day of September,
A.D.,1929.
~tl~RhAS,in paragraph sixth of my said Will,I devised
a part of my home farm to my sons,Allen Carson and John Kit Carso ,
and unto my daughter,Cora Duvall lIprovided,however that they
pay my daughter,Elizabeth Brown,the sum of Two Thousand ($2000.00)
Dollars,within two years from the date of the death of my wife".
A~D WhEREAS,prior to this date,the value of said real
eatate has decreased and the value of my other property has decreas-
ed,in order to make an equitable distribution of my estate,I
hereby revoke Item Sixth of said Will and in its place ~nd stead
I add the following codicil,to wit:
Sixth.The remaining part of my home farm,not
hereinbefore devised and provided for,after the death of
my beloved wife,Susan E.C~rson (or after my death in the
avent that my beloved wife,Susan E.Carson should die
during my lifetime)I devise and bequeath to my two sons,
Allen Carson and John Kit Carson and to my daughter,Cora
Duvall,provided however that they pay to my daughter,
Elizabeth Brown,the sum of One Thousand ($1000.00)Dollars
within two years from the date of the death of my wife,
(or within two years from the date of my death,in the
event that my beloved wife,Susan E.Carson,should die
during my lifetime.)

Fourth.I give and bequeath to my son,

which he makes from conducting the farm.Jhould both
publish and declare this to be my Last Will and Testament,in manner and form following,hereby
revoking any will or wills heretofore made by me.
First.I direct that all my just debts and funeral expenses be fully paid and satisfied,as soon
as conveniently may be,after my decease.
econd.I devise and bequeath to my beloved wife,usan~.Carson,
and to my son,llen Carson,the farm on which I now reside in allow-
field Township,iashington County,Pennsylvania,together with all
buildings and household goods thereon,to have and to hold jointly
during the natural lifetime of my beloved wife,Susan E.Carson.They
shall also have the right to lease the same for the purpose of drilling
for oil and gas and to share equally all rental monies and payments
made for any gas or oil thereon.
Third.I further provide that so long as Allen and my beloved wife,
3usan E Carson,both remain on the fa ill,neither shall pay rent to
the other,but that illen shall provide for and maintain his mother,
pay the taxes assessed against the farm and premiums on a reasonable
amount of lire insurance and Allen shall be entitled to the profits
the taxes,insurance and repairs.~hould my beloved wife,3usan E.
Carson leave the farm and my son llen remain thereon,then in that
event,I direct llen to pay t'o his mother each month,the sum of
Twenty Dollars,as her share of the income from the farm.
1'ifth.ter the death of my beloved wife,usan E.Carson,(or
after my death in the event that my beloved wife,Susan i.Carson,
should die during my ~ifetime),I give,devise an bequeath to my son,
hllen Carson and his heirs and assigns,in fee simple,one hundred acres
of land on the 0ou~hwestern end of the farm on which I now reside in

Fallowfield Township,together with all buildings and household goods
thereon,and my Executors hereinafter named shall locate the line di-
viding this one hundred acres from the remainder of the farm
~ixth.The remaining part of my home farm,not hereinbe-
fore devised and provided for,after the death of my beloved wife,

Jusan E.Carson should die during my lifetime)I devise and bequeath

other legacies are paid.

Brown,Fifteen HUndred ($1500.00)Dollars.
Tenth.11 the rest,residue and remainder of my estate,
real,personal and mixed,whatsoever,I order and direct to be con-
verted into money as soon as the same can be conveniently done after
I my decease,and for that purpose,I do hereby authorize,empower and
direct my said executors,hereinafter named and the survivor of them,
to sell,dispose of and convey in fee simple,all of my said real
estate,by public or private sale or sales,without any liability of
the purchasers for the application,non-application or miss-application
of the purchase ....mo'nies.
Eleventh.Should any balance remain after aforesaid
legacies,gifts,devises and bequests have been paid,I will and direct
that the same shall be divided into three parts and shares and dis-
posed of as follow~i.e.,

I,HENRY J.CARSON,of Fallowfield Township,ashington
County and State of Pennsylvania,being of'souii.d mind,memory and
understanding,do make and publish this Codicil to my Last ill an
