I,Jeannette Bigger,of the Township of Robin-
son,County of Washington,and state of Pennsylvania,do make,
pUblish ana declare this Codicil to my Last Will and Testament,
bearing date JUly 2'7th,1918,in manner and.form following:
First:There are many artioles of household
furniture,silverware,beds,bedding.and other chattels of
various kinds in the old home where I have lived all my life,
some of which have considerable intrinsic value,and 80me of
whi ch have little intrinsic value,but many of which I have
cherished and preserved because of their history and the asso-
cia.tions connected therewith.I feel that these articles would
be appreciated by my near relatives and friends for the same
reason.It is my will,therefore,and I hereby direct that the
said articles,hereinafter enumerated and mentioned,be not
sold but distributed in kind.To that end,I hereby give and be-
queath the said articles to the persons and in the manner
severally indicated below •
1.To my nephew,Thomas M.Bigger.of Columbus,Ohio,the
old clock in the sitting room,the old English Gun,and one-half
(~)of the old Communion Glass,in my possession.These arti-
cles are given to him in addition to the old Pestle Rnd Mortar
and the marriage certificate and church certificntes of my
grandfather and grandmother Bigger,which I have heretofore
given to him.
2.To my neph~w,~ndrew D.Bigger,the tall Chest of Draw-
ers.
3.To my niece,Jane Bigger.daughter of my brother Thomas,
deceased,the writing desk of my sister Ann,deceased,and the
mirror in my room.These articles I give and bequeath to her,
in addition to the blue and white coverlet that I have already
given to her.
4.To my nephew,Andrew Donaldson,the piotures of my
father and mother.

5.To my niece,Jane Elizabeth Donaldson,the large mirror
in th e upper fro nt bedroom,aID.th e dressing table under said
mirror.
6.To my nephew,Thomas R.Donaldson,one-half (t)dozen
of sterling teaspoons.
7.To my ne~hew,Matthew J.Donaldson,the old grandfather
clock.
8.8.To my nephew,John McB.Donaldson,his Uncle Matthew's
Cuff Buttons.
9.To Mrs.Samuel Bigger Donaldson,widow of my nephew,
Samuel Bigger Donaldson,the side table in the sitting room.
10.To my nephew,Isaac D.Bigger,the walnut bedstead
and bedding in the upper front bedroom.
11.To my nephew,Samuel Walker Bigger,my father's gold
headed cane,and tall English Spinning Wheel.
12.To my nephew,Richard Bigger,the White Fur Rug and
side table in lower front bedroom.
13.To my nephew,Doctor William Bigger,the clock in the
upper front bedroom.
~14.To my nephew,John Bigger,the old cherry bedstead in the
attic.
15.To Sarah Bigger,daughter of my nephew,John Bigger,my
watch and chain.
16.To my grand-niece,Nellie McBride,daughter of my deceasi
ed niece,Esther McBride,the ehest in my room.
17.To my grand-niece,Alberta McBride,daughter of my said
deceased niece,Esther McBride,the marble top stand in the front
room downstairs.
18.To my grand-niece,Wlma Wilson,daughter of my deceased
niece,Ida Bigger Wilson,the low spinning wheel.
19.To my grand-niece,Ida Wilson,daughter of my said
deoeased niece,Ida Bigger Wilson,the marble top stand in the
upper front bedroom.
20.To my nephew,Richard J.Donaldson,one-half (t)dozen
sterling teaspoons.

21.To my niece,Elizabeth M.Donaldson,the davenport in
the lower front room,the old cherry bedstead in the attic,
grandmother Martin's quilt,and one-half (t)dozen sterling
tablespoons.
22.To my nephew,John M.Donaldson,Washington,Pa.,fjrand-
mother Martin's Chest of Drawers in the upper front bedroom,
given to me by her,and one-half (t)of the old Communion Glass.
23.To my sister,Jane Bigger McBride,the settee on the
back porch,our mother's rocking chair,our mother's ring,the
canopy bedstead,and her choice of the old quilts.These arti-
cles I give and bequeath to her in addition to six (6)sterling
table spoons,and six (6)sterling desert spoons,that I have
given to her.
24.To my niece,Beatrice McBride,my sister Martha's Breast
Pin and my father's Chest of Drawers.
25.To :ny Brother,Reverend Samuel Bigger,the Bible in the
covered box,and his choice of the books and as many of them as
he may desire.
26.To Elizabeth Hood,daughter of my Cousin,Mary Jane
Hood,the pictures of her grand father and g«!andmother,and my
Uncle and Aunt,Isaac and Betsy McBride.
27.To my man-servant,John Berniski,Commonly known as
"John:'the bed and bedding,and whatever else is in his room,I
excepting,however,the chest,household linen,and my clothes.
28.To my hired man,Fleming Vance,the white iron bedstead.
and bedding thereon,in the lower front bedroom.I
29.To Etta McKee McCabe,daughter of my former pastor,I
Revere.nd W.R.Me Kee ,D.D.,the photographs of her father aYJd
mother.
30.To my friend,LueJla McKee,daughter of my said former
pastor,the photograph of herself as a little girl.I
31.All the rest and residue of the books,linens,and !
dishes,in the old home,shall oe divided by my niece Jane Bigger,
daughter of my brother,Thomas,and my niece,Jane Elizabeth
Donaldson,and shall he distributed and delivered b.'l them to such
person or persons,and in such quantities as they,my said nieces
in their discretion,shall deem best,giving,however,to my

sister,Jane,her choice of the quilts.
32.All the rest and residue of the household goods,furni-
ture and kitchen utensils,remaining in the old home,after dis-
tribution has been made,to the persons and in the manner herein-
before set forth,I give,and beqneath to my hired man,Fleming
Vance.
It is my Will,and I hereby direct,that the Collateral
Inheritance Tax due the Commonwealt h of Pennsylvania,upon the
articles hereinbefore bequeathed in this Codicil,sMl be paid
out of my estate,and toot the a-bove named legatees thereof shall
receive and enjoy the same free from any obligation to p~the
said tax.
Second.In consideration of his many years of service to
me and my brother,Matthew,now deceased,and his earnest devo-
tion to our best interests,I give and bequeath to my said hired
man,Fleming Vance,a team of horses from my farm (giving him his
choice of horses),a set of harness and a wagon.It is my
will also,and I hereby direct,that the said Fleming Vance shall
have the use and occupancy,free of rent,for the term of one (1)
year,beginning on the j"irst day of A'pril,first succeeding and
following my decease,the farm upon which I reside,and in which
I have and own an undivided one-half (t)interest in fee,and in
the other one-half of which I have only a life estate,devised to
me by my sister,Ann Ewing.In order th~t this devise to Fleming
Vance,0 f the use and occupancy of the whole of said farm for the
term of one (1)year as aforesaid,may be approved and confirmed
by the devisees of the remainder over in said farm,under the will
of the said Ann Ewing,deceased,I do hereby expressly provide that
the bequests contained in my said Will,dated July 27th,1918,and
given by me therein to the persons who are also devisees of the
said remainder over,shall be received and enjoyed by said legatees
and devisees,on condit ion,and only UTlon the conditj on that they,
the said legatees,shall approve and confirm the above devise of
the use and occupancy of said farm as a whole,to Fleming Vance,as
aforesaid,and that they,the said legatees,shall allow him to
have th€use and occupancy of their interests in said farm,free
of rent,for the term of one (1)year,beeinning the first day of
Apri 1,immediately follow ing and succeeding my decease.
Except as herein changed,modified and supplemented,I do
hereby ratify and confirm my said Last Will and Testament,dated
July 27th,A.D.1918.

I,JEAllliETTE BIGGER of the Township of Robinson,
County of7ashington and state of Pennsylvania,do make,pub-
lish and declare this my Last Will and Testament,hereby re-
voking and making voj d all "{ills by me at any time heretofore
made.
FIRST.I direct that all my just debts and fun-
eral expenses shall be fully paid by my executors hereinafter
named as soon as conveniently nay be done after my deceose.
SECO~D.1 give,devise and bequeath unto my ex-
ecutors heteinafter named,Andrew D.Bigger and Richard J.
Donaldson,whom I name and constitute as trustees for the pur-
pose,all the rest and residue of my estate,real,personal and
mixed remaining after the payment of my just debts and funeral
expenses,and exepnses of administr~tion of ny estate,in trust
for the following uses and purposes,viz:-
To convert the whole thereof into mone~and,to
that end,I not only authorize ond e~power n~said eAecutors to
sell and convert all my personal property,but likewise I do
hereby authorize and empower them to sell and convey all of the
real estate of which I may die seized,at such time or tines,
and for such price or prices,and upon such terms as my said
exec tors and trustees shall deem to be to the best interests
of my estate,and to make good and sufficient deed or deeds
therefor to the purchaser or purchasers thereof without any
liability on the part of such purchaser or purchasers to Bee
to the application of the purchase moneyi Further in the exer-
cise of this power I do authorize and ompo\7er my said executors
and trustees to sell and convey the said real estate as afore-
said,either as a whole or in separate portions or parcels and

and conveyor IDase as aforesaid all rny rig2t,title and interest
in the coal underlying the farm on which I now reside and in ~hicl1
I have an undivided interest,and to give and grant thereTIith
full and complete mining rights to the purchaser or purchasers
thereof,without any liability on the part of said purchaser
vr purchasets for any damages that might result to the surface
of said farm by reason of tf.c digging,mining,ventilating an d
carrying away of said coal~Further the aforesaid power to sell
shall be deemed to include the right to sell any timber standin[
upon said farm and to sever the sane therefrom and likewise to
lease said land for the development of oil or gas upon such terms
as mv said.executors may deen proper.
THIRD.Pending the sale of my said real estate,
I do hereby give and grant unto my said executors full power
and authority to lease and let all of ToW said real estate,to
collect the rent arising from said leasing or letting and to
pay all taxes that may be assessed upon said real estate and
for all necessary insurance thereon and repairs thereto.
FOURTH.Out of tLe proceeds of the sale and con-
version of my personal propcrty and real estate there shall be
set aside the sum of Three thousand ($3000.00)Dollars,to be
and remain in the hands of my said trustees to invest the same
in first wortgages upon real estate and collect the income from
such investment and to expend so much of said income as my said
trustees shall deem proper and necessary for the comfortable
support and maintenance of my faithful mon-servant of foreign
birth known as "John",who has lived in our family for many years,
for and during the term of his natural life~and,if at any time
by reason of the sicJ.mess of thc said "Johnfl,or for any other
reason,the net income of said sum of Three thousand ($3000.00)
Dollars shall,in the opinion and.discretion of my said trustees,
be insufficient to care for and maintain properly the said."John"
then and.in that event I d.o hereby authorize and.empo'vIer my said
Trustees to expend sU8h portion of the principal of said.fund.
of Three thousand.($3000.00)Dollars as they in their d.iscretion
ma~l d.eem necessary for the comfort and.proper care of the said.

FIFTH.Out of the rest and residue of the Dro-
ceeds of the sale and conversion of all my personal property
nd real estate,and the leasing and letting of my real estate
that shall still remain after the said sum of Three thousand
($3000.00)Dollars shall have been set aside for the use and
benefit of the said IfJol1n",as hereinbefore ,1irected,I do
hereby authorize and direct my said trustees to pay to my
sister,Hary Bigger Donaldson,my sister Jane Bigger l.~CBride
and to my brother,Rev.Samuel Bigger,each,the sum of Three
hundred ($300.00)Dollars annually to be paid to them in semi-
annual installments of One hlUldred and fifty (;150.00)Dollars I
each,for and during the natural life of each of them,and
upon the death of both of my said sisters and of my said brother,
the portion of my estate still remaininc out of which the afore-
said.annuities are to be paid shall be divided.among my nieces
and nephews then living,and the children of my deceased nephews
and nieces then living in the manner hereinafter set forth.
During the lifetime of my said two sisters and my said brother,
or the survivor or survivors of them,I do hereby authorize and
direct my said Trustees to invest such portion of the trust
fund which is hereinset aside for their benefit,as my said
trustees may deem unnecessary for the immeciate payment of said
annuities,in first mortgages upon real estate,and collect the
income arising from such investment,which income shall be add-
ec to the corpus of said fund as received.
SIXTH.upon the death of the said "Jof~n"I
do hereby direct my said executors and Trustees to divide the
rest and residue of the said trust fund of Three thousand (ci"3000'
Dollars hereinbefore set aside for his use and benefit,in theI,
Fourth paragraph hereof to and among my nieces and nephews,
who shall be living at tha t t ime"and the child or children of
any nieces or nephews ~ho may then be de~eas~d;but the ~hild
or cnildren of any such de~eased nieces or nephews shull take
only and receive such part or share as his,her or their de-
ceased parent would have taken or received if he,or she,
should have been alive at the time of the death of the said
"Johnll .and likewise upon the death of my two sisters and my,,
said brother,all that [ortion of my estate hereinbefore set
aside for the payment of annuities to them in and by the
Fifth paragraph hereof,together with all income that may
have been received by my said truste es from the investment of
the sa~e shall be divided by my said exe~utors and trustees to,
and among my nieces and nephews who shall be liVing at that
time .and the child or ~hildren of any nie~cs or nephews who
may then be deceased;but the child or ~hildren of su~h deceas-
ed nieces or nepheTIS shall take only and re~eive su~h part or
share as his,her or their parent would have ~aken or received
if he or she had been living at that time;that is to say,
at the time of the death of my said two sisters and my said
brother pr the survivor of them.
LASTLY I do nominate,~onstitute and appoint
my nephews,the said Andres D.Bigger and the said Richard J.
Donaldson,executors hereof and Trustees hereunder.
