Hagerty,deceased),of the Borough of Carlisle,County of Cumber- land and State of Pennsylvania,being of sound mind,memory and understanding,do make,publish and declare the following to be my last Will and Testament,hereby revoking and making null and void any and all wills by me at any time heretofore made. FIRST.I direct my just debts and funeral expenses to be paid by my executor hereinafter named as soon as may be convenient- ly done after my death. SECOND.As a token of my affectionate remembrance,I make the following bequests:-to my beloved sister,Margaret Hartzel, my silver tea set,two large solid silver fruit spoons and one solid silver fruit spoon;to my niece,Jennie Parsons,my gold watch,dated 1876-1901,and one-half dozen solid silver tea spoons; to my niece,Elizabeth M.Emery,Sr.,one-half dozen solid silver tea spoons,eat's eye ring and ice cream knife;to my grandniece, Elizabeth M.Emery,'Jr.,my opal ring;to my grandniece,Marian Emery,my small diamond ring;to my niece,Annie Jamison,my onyx Broach set with pearls,pearl ring,one-half dozen solid silver tea spoons,one half dozen coffee spoons and one-half dozen solid silver butter knives;to my niece,Margaret Martin,two solid silver fruit spoons;to my grandniece,Dorothy Martin,my cameo ear rings and ring;to my grandniece,Ruth Martin,my neck lace Lavi1lier and opal;to my niece,Elizabeth M.Emery and daughters, my white and gold band china dinner set;twelve plates,two meat plates;two vegetable dishes and Mayonnaise dish;to my niece, Sarah J.Parsons,my twelve china Bouillon cups and two saucers; to William Hagerty and wife,Mrs.Mary Myers and Elizabeth Hagerty, my cut glass dishes,to be amicably divided among them;to Dr. A.V.Davis,of Newark,Ohio,my two glass fruit dishes;to Ollie Anthony,my twelve china dessert dishes and saucers. I further give and bequeath to my nieces and grandnieces above named my odd solid silver pieces,to be amicably divided among them;also such of my wearing apparel as they may wish,to be amicably divided among them,Such of my wearing apparel as may not be amicably divided among them,I direct to be sent to such one of our Presbyterian Schools in the South as my executor hereinafter named may select. THIRD.I give and bequeath certain articles of my personal property,consisting of linens,bed clothes,pictures,etc.,to the persons whose names,respectively,are attached to said articles. FOURTH.I give and bequeath my large walnut book case,to be filled with my beloved and deceased husband's best books,includ- ing some of my own,to the Trustees of the First Presbyterian Church of Carlisle,Pennsylvania,and request that said book case and the books therein be placed in the study of said Church,and marked liThe Hagerty Library."It is my purpose to make the selection of said books myself,but if,through the infirmities of age I shall have failed to do so before my death,I direct my executor herein- after named,in conjunction with the Pastor of said Church,to make the selection. FIFTH.I give,devise and bequeath all my estate,right, title,terms of years yet to come,claim and demand whatsoever,of, in,to,or out of my lease of a certain tract of land situate in Chartiers Township,Washington County,Pennsylvania,containing one hundred and fifteen acres,more or less,dated the 20th day of June, •• 1885,for a period of twenty years from said date,made to me and my husband,A.N.Hagerty,by J.M.Duffey &Company,for the sole and only purpose of drilling for natural gas and petroleum oil, which said lease by a proper assignment made by the said J.M. Duffey.and Company,and duly recorded,has become vested in the Pennsylvania Natural Gas Company which is operated by the Philadelp- hia Company,as lessee,and which said lease,by agreement dated the 5th day of Sugust,1905,was extended for and during the period of one year from and after June 20th,1905,and from year to year thereafter,subject to the conditions in said agreement mentioned, to "The Board of Foreign Missions of the Presbyterian Church in the United States of America,"incorporated April 12,1862,by Act of the Legislature of the State of New York,in trust,nevertheless,to col- lect and receive the yearly rental thereof and to pay the same, less proper charges thereon,in equal shares,to the Woman's Medical College of Canton,China,and the Nurses Training School of Canton, China.Should either of said institutions cease to operate,I direct that the equal share of yearly rental given give to it as aforesaid,shall be paid to such other institution of like character and purpose in the foreign mission field as the said Trustee,in its jUdgment,shall determine. SIXTH.All the rest,residue and remainder of my estate, real,personal and mixed,whatsoever and wheresoever Situate,of which I may die seized and possessed,I direct my executor herein- after named to convert into money,and for this purpose I authorize and empower my said executor to sell,assign and transfer any and all stocks,bonds,or securities of any kind embraced in my residuary estate;and also to sell at public or private sale,and at such prices and on such terms as may be deemed best for the best interests • of my estate,any and all real estate,or interest in real estate, embraced in my residuary estate,and to execute and deliver a good and sufficient deed or deeds in fee simple,to the purchaser or purchasers thereof;and the proceeds of such conversion,directed as aforesaid,I give and bequeath as follows:- (a)To my said niece,Jennie Parsons,the sum of one hundred dollars. said (b)To my/niece,Elizabeth M.Emery,Sr.,the sum of one hundred dollars. (c)To Davis Reed Parsons,son of the said Jennie Par- sons,the sum of one hundred dollars. (d)To Dr.E.Roberts Plank,the sum of five hundred dollars,in greatfUl recognition of his years of professional kind- ness to me and my deceased husband. (e)To the American Bible Society,formed in New York in the year 1816,and incorporated in 1841,the sum of five hundred dollars. (f)All of my residuary estate remaining after the pay- ment of the foregoing legacies,given in the foregoing paragraphs, "(a)lt,ll(b)","(c)lt,"(d)"and "(e)f1,I give and bequeath to the Carlisle Trust Company,of Carlisle,Pennsylvania,in trust,to invest,care for and manage the same,and to pay the net annual income thereof,in quarterly payments,to my sister-in-law,Eliza- beth Hagerty for and during the term of her natural life;and upon the death of the said Elizabeth Hagerty,to pay the principal of said trust,in equal shares,to liThe Board of'National Missions of the Presbyterian Church in the United States of America,u in- corporated April 24,1923,by Act of the Legislature of the State of New York,and "The Board of Foreign Missions of'the Presbyterian • Church in the United States o£America,"incorporated April 12, 1862,by Act o£the Legislature o£the State o£New York. SEVENTH.I direct that all trans£er,inheritance and succession taxes due and payable under the provisions of this my will shall be paid out o£my residuary estate. FINALLY.I nominate and appoint the Carlisle Trust Company, o£Carlisle,Pennsylvania,the executor o£this my last will and testament.
