I,Samuel Albert Crothers,of the Borough of Washing- ton,Washington County,Pennsylvania,bei~of sound and disposing mind,memory B.nd understanding,do ma.ke,publish and declare the following to be my last Will and Testament,hereby revokin~all former wills by me at any time heretofore made. ~I direct that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid as soon as can be done after my decease. 2.After my death I direct that ~body be cremated; this direction is positive and final and I place upon my executors the absolute obligation and duty of seeing that this direction is strictly carried out. 3.I direct the.t my ashes be buried in my lot in the Claysville Cemetery,and that my executors hereinafter named erect a tombstone at my grave similar in kind to the one now erected at the grave of my wife,and I further direct that the lettering pIeced thereon be countersunk at least one-fourth inch. iL I direct thet the following bequests be first paid out of my estate:- To my sister,Anna Cleland,the sum of One Thousand ($1,000.00)Dollars; To her husband,Samuel Cleland,the sum of Two Thousand ('2,000 .00)Dolla rs;and To my brother,Harry Crother~,the sum of One Thousand t~l,OOO.OO)Dollars. 5.I direct that the following legacies be next paid out of my estate:- To Beulah Scott,the sum of One Thousand ($1,000.00) Dollars; To Helen Brownlee,the sum of Five Hundred ('500.00) Dollers;e.nd -1- T • To Paul Crothers,the sum of One Thousand ($1,000.00) DollB.rs. 6.I direct that the following bequests be next paid out of my est~te. To each of the children of my brother,Harry,who ma,y be living at the time of my death,the sum of Three Hundred ($300.00)Dollars. To Albert Wilson,son of William Wilson,of Washington. Pa,.,the sum of Five Hundred ($500.00)Do1la.rs; To Mrs.Vina Swartz,my mother's friend,of Taylors- to n,Pa.,the sum of Three Hundred ($300.00)Doll~rs; To J2mee Cleland,my nephew,the sum of Five Hundred te500.00)Doll~rs; To the E?st Buffalo Congregation of the Presbyterian Church the sum of Five Hundred (500.00)Dollars; and To the Salvation Army the sum of One Thousand ($1,000.00) Dolla,rs. ~I also give and bequeath to my brother-in-law, Samuel Cleland,my automobile. ~I give and bequeath to my sister,Anna.Cleland, a,nd my brother,Harry Crothers,the contents of my room,consist- ing of mnting trophies and brie-a.-brae of va.rious kinds,but not including valuable papers or securities of any kind that may be in my room at the time of ~decease. 9.I give,devise and bequeath to my sister,Anna Cleland.and to her husband,Samuel Cleland,my lot in the Clays- ville Cemetery,except such pa,rt as is occupied by myself a.nd my wife. 10.I direct my executors hereinafter named to sell all the coal and mining rights,which I own in severalty,consist- ing of about ninety-six (96)acres in Blaine Township.Washington County,Pennsylva,nie,and I also direct that the net proceeds of said sale be divided among the children of my brothers,Harry M. -2- • Crothers and Wylie F.Crothers,and my sister,Anna Cleland; ~rovided,th~t the children above referred to are those that may be living at the time of my dece~.Be;and provided further,that said sale shall be made whenever the majority of said children, or the guardians of such as may not be of age,shall notify my executors so to do;and provided further,that until said sale shall be made all of said children who are entitled to participate in the proceeds of said sale shall contribute equally to the payment of all taxes assessed aaainst said coal and mining rights, within thirty days after receiving written notice to make such contribution,and if any of them should neglect to contribute his or her share for said purpose within said period,then and in that case the one so refusing or neglecting to make said contribution shall forfeit his or her right to participate in the distribution of said proceeds. 11.I give,devise and bequeath to my brother, Harry Crothers.and to my sister,Anna Clele.nd,all the rest, residue and remainder of my estate of whatsoever character and wheresoever situate. 12.I nomin~te,constitute and appoint ~friend, Frs.nk Henderson,and my nephew,James Cleland,to be executors of this !l\Y last Will and Testament,and I direct that the firm of McIlvaine,Williams &McCreight be employed by them as counsel in the settlement of my estate.
